DHCP Information

What is this service and what can it do for you?

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) enables end-user devices to obtain their networking parameters (e.g. IP Address & DNS Server) dynamically.

Where is this service located and when is it available?

The DHCP service is provided automatically on Secure Mustang Wireless and  in various Conference rooms around campus. The DHCP available conference rooms can be found at: DHCP ready Conference Rooms

What do I do next to use this service?

You will need a laptop that is set up properly (see the links below).

If you don't have a laptop, you may check one out from MDS which are already configured and ready to go.

Configuring DHCP for Mac and Windows Machines

IMPORTANT: Remember your original network settings. You will need to restore them if you are using your laptop on another network. (i.e. Home cable, DSL...)
